Beta Notice: PetFinderNetwork.org and associated tools are in an active early-stage rollout. Features are still being refined, and additional improvements may occur as part of ongoing testing. Volunteers and pet owners should continue using traditional lost pet recovery methods (flyers, shelter visits, and in-person searching) as primary tools.

1. Who We Are

PetFinderNetwork.org is operated by the Lost Pet Finder Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lost pet recovery outcomes through trained volunteers, technology-assisted alerts, and coordinated response.

The non-profit uses technology services provided by TailTracker PBC (“TailTracker”), including authentication, mission tools, and mapping. TailTracker retains ownership of its intellectual property. The non-profit does not license or redistribute TailTracker branding or software.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Finder Network and help coordinate volunteer response:

Name and contact information (email, phone, service ZIP code)
Account login and authentication details
Your selected service area, training progress, and Finder status
Sighting submissions (photos, location, time)
Mission participation activity
Device IP address and basic technical logs for security purposes

3. How We Use Your Information

To operate and improve the Finder Network
To coordinate missions and communicate with volunteers
To triage sightings and route information to families
To maintain platform security and prevent misuse
To analyze mission performance and improve response accuracy

4. Information Sharing

We share limited volunteer information with TailTracker PBC as needed to power mission tools.
During a mission, your first name or call-sign may be visible to other active volunteers.
Sighting information you submit may be shared with pet owners, shelters, or coordinating agencies.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.

5. Cookies & Technical Data

We use basic cookies and device data for authentication, security, session management, and site functionality. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

Mission-related information and Finder activity may be retained to support training, operational analysis, security, and platform improvement. You may request account deletion at any time.

7. Your Choices

You may update your profile at any time.
You may request deletion of your Finder account.
You may opt out of volunteer alerts by pausing availability or closing your account.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13. Minors may participate only with explicit parent or guardian oversight and responsibility.
